"The Student Curse"

I was informed when I walked in the station this morning at 7am that any time they have a student of any kind riding along... nothing happens. I started at 7am. We did NOTHING until noon. At noon, we transported a patient to the MRI center... three hospitals share one MRI. Nothing exciting. Then a little while later... the most interesting one of the day... A heroin overdose. Except it wasn't extremely cool, 'cuz after just giving her 2mg of Narcan... she was fine. Then we had a hospital to nursing home transport. Then a call to an adult soccer league game... guy got kicked in the head, shoe spike through the ear lobe. He didn't come with us, his wife brought him to the ER after he signed off. Then, a guy fell off a ladder doing some house work. He lost consciousness and had a gash on his leg. But when we got there he was awake and saying he was fine. He also declined a ride from us, and his wife was going to bring him in as well. What an exciting 12.5 hours... I hoped my ambulance day would be much more interesting than that... The student curse continues...
